It's not a command, but a muscles twitches in Ronan's jaw all the same, his eyes still locked on Gansey as he gives not an inch. He's every bit the Gansey Ronan remembers, but maybe it's the months without, maybe it's his mind to fill in the pieces, but there's something different, too. Something more. Something Ronan can't put a finger on.

"Tell me," he says, not taking a single step back though his voice softens. "You've been here before, man. You were here and you left and everyone who shows up remembers something new. Something I don't. So what about you?"

It's a challenge of his own, maybe. A challenge for Darrow to prove itself.
